The puppetry world is not a big community. It used to be the principal medium of entertainment for a lot of children before the Second World War and even for about two decades after that. However, the rise of the television and computer games can be attributed for the lack of interest in a lot of families in taking their children to watch a puppet show. The consequence is inevitable. Closure of puppet theatres as well as the lack of interest among young people to carry the torch into the future in the world of puppetry. This is the reality.
While we strive to compete just as in any business field, we are also mindful of the fact that without our peers, competition dwindles, and eventually we also decline along with the small world that we try hard to prevent from extinction. This is especially so in a future of fast-changing technological advancement.
Thus, we strive to ensure that all of our peers in the world of puppetry benefit for the common cause of preventing the art form from extinction. For our part, the theatre presents and updates whenever possible, puppet theatres from around the world and how the public can gain access to their productions.
